Jedox Web Studio is a crucial component of the Jedox Suite, offering a comprehensive web-based platform for business intelligence (BI), performance management (xPM), and collaborative planning. It serves as the central interface for users to access, analyze, and share data-driven insights, leveraging the power of the Jedox Suite in a convenient and accessible web application.
Functionality-wise, the application is designed to be a central place for two major types of users, each
with their own set of features and capabilities:
It is also a container for the majority of Jedox Suite modules, such as:
Jedox Web Studio provides a centralized repository for storing and managing reports and other types of files. Users can organize their files into folders, share them with colleagues, and access them from any device with an internet connection.
The report viewer is a key feature of Jedox Web Studio that allows users to interact with reports and dashboards created by designers. It provides a user-friendly interface for exploring data, applying filters, and drilling down into details to gain deeper insights.
The Administration module of Jedox Web Studio is dedicated to managing users, groups and roles, connections, licenses, and other system settings. Administrators can monitor logs, users' sessions, performance and audit data.
The Settings module allows users to customize their Jedox Web Studio experience by adjusting preferences related to login page, start page shortcuts, notifications, collaboration, language, theme, experimental features and many more. It also exposes properties of pre-built and custom-made solution models.
The Roles module is where administrators can define user roles and permissions within Jedox Web Studio. By assigning roles to users, administrators can control access to specific features and functionalities, ensuring that sensitive data is protected.
The Connections module is where administrators can configure data connections to external data sources, such as databases, flat files, and so on. By setting up connections, users can import data into the Jedox in-memory OLAP database for analysis and reporting.
The Request Profiler for the Jedox in-memory OLAP database provides detailed insights into specific value calculation requests. When activated, it compiles a history of requests for each user session. This data, which includes metadata about the calculations, is accessible in the Request Profiler panel located within the Performance module of Jedox Administration. Furthermore, for complex value calculations, the Request Profiler can create visualizations of prolonged calculations within the request list, displaying data such as the rules processed and the duration of each calculation.
The Licenses module displays information about the licenses that are currently active in Jedox Suite. Administrators can view details such as the license type, expiration date, and the number of users allowed under each license.
The Audit module provides a comprehensive overview of user activity within Jedox Suite. The changes made to values in cube cells in the in-memory OLAP database can be tracked by enabling the Audit feature for specific cubes. The Audit modules displays a log of all changes made to cube cells, including the cell path, time of change, user, new value, and operation (splashing, copy, etc.).
